The Hive Thonglor invites all aspiring filmmakers 18 years and older to participate in the Flash Film Weekend on 31 May-2 June at the Hive, 49/6 Soi Sukhumvit 49. The Flash Film Weekend is designed to teach you how to make a short film in only 48 hours. This is not a contest. Instead, you will learn how to create a visual story, produce useable shots, and assemble your footage into a completed short film working with experienced filmmakers and like-minded colleagues. The program will begin on Friday evening and conclude on Sunday afternoon.
Each day will address key steps in the filmmaking process:
Friday night: Plan
Discover the principles of making visual stories.
Brainstorm your own short movie stories.
Get mentoring on shaping your stories into video by industry professionals!
Write a shooting script.
Sketch a storyboard.
Saturday: Shoot
Learn how to set up your movie production unit.
Plan your shots and setups.
Get tips and tricks on using cameras and lighting from local experts.
Talk it. Stage it. Shoot it.
Sunday morning: Edit
Review your footage.
Make a shot log.
Learn how to assemble a rough cut.
Explore possibilities for adding sound effects, music, titles and credits.
Plan how to finish your movie.
Awards ceremony – celebrate your accomplishments!
Cost for the entire weekend, including water and snacks, is 1000THB.
